Dr. Harita Raja is a board-certified psychiatrist and an expert in women’s mental health and wellness. She is the founder of Bethesda Women’s Mental Health, where she provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to women’s unique needs from menses to menopause.

Dr. Harita Raja is a board-certified psychiatrist and an expert in women’s mental health and wellness. She is the founder of Bethesda Women’s Mental Health, where she provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to women’s unique needs from menses to menopause. She is a graduate of Albany Medical College and completed her psychiatry residency at Georgetown University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident and continues to contribute as an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Raja is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, speaker, published author, founder of the DMV Menopause Providers Group, and member of the D.C. Women’s Mental Health Consortium. Aligning with her mission to support women’s mental health and well-being, celebrate their journeys, and build stronger, connected communities, Dr. Raja founded the Raat Rani Collective, a community initiative to empower South Asian women and break mental health stigma through movement, connection, and education. She also co-founded South Asian Her, an organization redefining women’s health through science and lived experience to bridge gaps in knowledge and awareness within the South Asian community.
